The Mosaic
I posted your earlier photo just after the installation to the CTK FB page yesterday at 4:00 pm. In just over 30 hours, it's received over 2,100 views from folks liking, loving and sharing it—a record for our page!
What compels me the most in your project is the dream behind it that reminds me of the building of medieval cathedrals, my preferred historical time and my preferred dream: a community of sinners/believers builds their thanksgiving to God together despite famine, poverty, suffering, personal issues, personal jobs and commitments and in the end it is a gift of beauty where the work of the Holy Spirit is present and alive and speaking loudly the story of God and His love for us.
It is a gift of Hope for them and a gift for the generations to come, exactly obedient to the command of God to transmit to our children the true faith. but it is not just a dull obedient transmission, it is a creative act of beauty that conveys the work of obedience and the works of faith all together in a single object representing one of the highest achievements of the communion of human talents of every kind, in every artistic and technical realm.
It is a gift that, even if not eternal, survives time, it is almost out of time, and speaks the Word of the Lord for everybody now and then.
Early Morning
When I think of all the brushstrokes and perspective that went into it, especially all the little flecks of color...you have such a gift! Thank you for sharing it with us!

Through the Reeds
So many complexities to render. And small things make such a big difference, like the way the reeds overlap the dock and boat just so.

Takes me to my favorite place... the lake.

Other Testimonials
Claudia Burns is an extraordinarily talented artist, whose technical skills and perception of the world around us capture moments in time and place beautifully. I have had the pleasure of hanging Claudia’s work in the Chris Nordin Studios Gallery for the past 2 years. An exhibition entitled “Here & There” consisted of beautiful oil paintings of Ann Arbor and Tuscany. It’s always fun to watch the response and reaction of gallery guests to Claudia’s work, with comments such as: “I love how this reminds me of being near the Lake” or “This painting takes me back to a wonderful time in Italy”
Claudia’s paintings depict realism on canvas with precision in every aspect, whether it be soft floating clouds or late afternoon summer light glistening on the water. Simply put, the detail in each painting is amazing!
